The directors of final destination Bloodlines did not know that it would be the last film of Tony Todd, but they “wanted to say goodbye”

The final blood destination directors Adam Stein and Zach Lipovsky say it was important to give horror the legend Tony Todd his own special shipment in what would end up being his latest film.
“It was an incredible honor to work with him. I mean, it is such a legend. We knew that he was sick at the origin of the development and the production of this film, and did not know if he wanted to participate,” Adam Stein told Gamesradar +. “But he kept saying:” Do not write to me from this film. I need to be in this film. “”
“When he arrived on the set, he was incredibly joyful and excited to be there, and excited to meet the new cast and give Bludworth not only an appropriate end, but a good start – and an appropriate explanation for whom his character is as a person.”
Todd, who is perhaps the best known for his main role in the hit of cult horror Candyman, played the mysterious Coroner William Bludworth in the final destination, the final destination 2 and the final destination 5. In each film, he explains the rules of death to each group of adolescents who are desperately trying to stay alive while death comes slowly for them.
In Bloodlines, Stefani and the gang need the help of someone who has once deceived death – which leads them to a morgue in the hospital, where they find other than Bludworth sitting among certain autopsied corpses.
“We really worked in close collaboration with him to not only give goodbye in the film for his character to the other characters, but also to make what we thought could be a farewell to the public, because these final destination films take several years to do,” explains Stein.
“We knew that it would probably be his latest final destination film. We did not know that it would be his last film,” continues Stein. “We wanted him to say goodbye. We asked him in this last moment to put him in his own words. You know, put the script. What do you want to say to your fans? What was all of this? You know, what is life talking about?”
Todd was a legend of pop culture, appearing in just about all the horror films that you probably never liked, notably Night of the Living Dead, The Crow, Wishmaster and Hayert, and appearing in many major television programs – from Star Trek to X -Files, and even Riverdale. He died in November 2024 from the stomach cancer.
“What is in the film is that taking where he talks about the heart directly to the public,” said Stein. “And that is, I think, why it affects so emotionally. This is something that has stuck us so stuck to us.
