The director of fires of the Nationals Dave Martinez, GM Mike Rizzo

The Washington Nationals rejected manager Dave Martinez and Managing Director Mike Rizzo on Sunday, more than five years after guiding the franchise to his only World Series title.
Martinez, who helped Washington to win the 2019 World Series in his second year of work, nevertheless has a record of 500-622 unbalanced at 7 seasons 1/2 as manager.
After their scanning in the hands of the Boston Red Sox who concluded on Sunday, the Nationals are 37-53, last place in the East National League and 16 first games.
They have the second first record in Major League Baseball since the start of the 2020 season to 325-473. Only Colorado Rockies were worse.
In a statement, the owner managing general of the Nationals, Mark D. Lerner, said that Mike Debartolo will serve as an acting managing director, while a decision concerning the temporary manager will be made on Monday. Debartolo was the main vice-president of Washington and deputy managing director of baseball operations.
“On behalf of our family and the organization of Washington Nationals, I want to thank Mike and Davey above all for their contributions to our franchise and our city,” said Lerner in his declaration. “Our family is eternally grateful for their years of dedication to the organization, including their roles in the creation of a World Series trophy in Washington, DC, while we appreciate their past successes, performance on the field was not where we or our fans are waiting for.
“It’s a pivotal moment for our club, and we think that a new approach and new energy are the best action plan for our team in the future.”
Martinez, 60, was a long -standing player and coach of the MLB who won a world series as a Chicago Cubs bench train before Washington gave her his first management job.
Rizzo, 64, was with the Nationals since 2007, when he was hired as Deputy Managing Director. He was promoted to GM in 2009 and received the additional title of president of baseball operations in 2013.
