The Diddy trial reaches an explosive conclusion while the defense asks the jury to “convene this courage” to “pay Sean Combs”

On the last day of the Sean “Diddy” Banbs trial before the jury deliberations, the lawyer for the hip-hop magnate Marc Agnifilo led the courtroom with a passionate closing argument. In the coming days, the jury will determine if Combs is guilty of sexual traffic, racketeering and transport to engage in prostitution. A conviction could land it behind bars for life.
Agnifilo’s behavior was animated and sometimes folk, unlike the cold and formal tone of the accusation. He punctuated in the courtroom, starting his summaries by gushing over the character and the business sense of Combs, saying that he was a champion of diversity. “Sean Combs has become something that is very, very difficult to be,” said Agnifilo. “He is an auto-fasted, successful and black black entrepreneur.” He told some of the positive things that the former combat employees said about him on the stands stand, adding: “Have they always loved him?”

The defense highlighted the presence of the children and the mother of Combs in the courtroom, saying: “Man takes care of people.” Taking a blow on one of the alleged victims of Combs, “Jane”, AGINFILO said: “I hope she spends a good day, but you know where she does? In a house for which he pays.”
Agnifilo argued that Combs is in “false trial”, that he is not guilty of sexual traffic, but is rather a member of the “lifestyle of swingers” who participated in “three years” consensual with his ex-girlfriends and male artists.
“No one forces him to do so,” said Agnifilo about Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, of the former Combs who accused her of raping and forcing her in hundreds of “monsters”, sex festivals supplied by drugs that lasted days. At the center of the trial is a 2016 surveillance video which depicts Ventura combing combing in a hotel corridor and which would try to bring it back to a “freak-off”.
“We have domestic violence,” said Agnifilo. Throughout the trial, the defense admitted that Combs was violent with Ventura, but that violence was not linked to “freak-offs”. Agnifilo painted Ventura as a strong and intelligent woman who appreciated her sex life with combs. “She is a woman who really likes sex,” said Agnifilo. “Very good for her! She is beautiful, she should. She is intense. She is not afraid.”
Agnifilo referred to the testimony of Ventura on her brief love story with singer Scott Mescudi, alias Kid Cudi. Ventura said that she had tried to keep her relationship with Mescudi a combination secret by buying a second mobile phone. “Whooooaaa! A burner phone!” Said Agnifilo, his voice jumping on an octave. “Cassie Le Garde Gangsta!” He said that Ventura “played” both Combs and Mescudi, which implies that she would not have had a secret relationship if she was actually “afraid of Sean Combs.”
Addressing the allegations of kidnapping against Combs, which concern his accusation of racketeering, Agrifilo referred to the assertion of the former deputy of Capricorn Clark that she was owned for five days in a office building in Manhattan, forced to pass a lie detector test on stolen jewelry. “A door Kidnap at door,” said Agnifilo mockingly, stressing that Clark was sleeping at home, and that one of the Combs security guards has led him and from the building every day. “You are here for long hours,” he told the jury. “Anyone here feels kidnapped?”
The agnifilo tone was incredulous: “He is responsible for kidnapping. It’s real!” And he told the jurors that they “had the right” to question the government’s assertions and not to take into account the witnesses of the witnesses.
The lawyer has chosen the allegations of corruption, falsification and obstruction of witnesses – and has focused strongly on the involvement that Combs orchestrated an act of criminal fire on Mescudi’s car. (Combs would have said previously that he was going to explode the vehicle, but an investigation at the time had not found any evidence leading to combs.) “This is not his style,” said Agnifilo, suggesting that Combs would prefer a confrontation to Hollywood Hollywood Hollywood. “”
Throughout the fence argument, Combres nodded and listened carefully, leaning back on his chair, crossing your arms on the table. In the morning, one of his sons, Justin Combs, wore a shirt that said “Sean Combs Libre”, which is not allowed in the courtroom. A courtyard of the courter approached him, and Justin left and returned to the room without the visible message.
Agnifilo was theatrical in his summation – and often used sarcasm to bring his arguments home. He used a mocking tone when he describes the raids on the combination properties, saying that they have made America “sheltered from astroglides”. “The way of making guys, you guys. When Pooh-poohing of drug distribution charges, Agnifilo admitted” there is no question “, Combs” had a drug problem “, but that his drugs were for personal use only, and not being part of a criminal business. That when his personnel resumed and delivered drugs like Xanax and did not know that they were making crimes – they simply carried out personal assistant tasks as is common in the entertainment industry.
Addressing the accusations of racketeering, the lawyer said that there was a “lack of gaping evidence”, and with regard to transportation to engage in prostitution accusations, he repeated the position of the defense that Combs paid male escorts for their “time”, not for sex.
By finishing things, Agnifilo is leveled with the jury. “It takes a lot of courage to pay,” he said. He said that the concept of a jury is one of the big things about America and that it is a difficult thing for a juror to govern federal prosecutors. “You are the United States of America,” he said, raising his voice. “You should feel daring, you should feel the courage you will have to call it as you see, and I ask you to summon this courage and do what should be done and do the right thing.” He asked jurors to pay his client on all accusations. “He sits innocent there. Return him to his family waiting for him. ”
Starting his refutation, which is the last time that the jurors will hear the lawyers after seven exhausting weeks of trials, the prosecutor Maurene Comey signed: “We are almost finished.” Comey pronounced his most ardent remarks to date, taking the stick after his colleague prosecutor Christy Slavik delivered five hours of fence on Thursday. She has placed herself in defense, saying that the idea that male escorts were not paid for sex “does not even pass the laughter”. When Combs gave them bundles of money at the end of “dressings”, it was not for their “sparkling conversation,” said Comey. She referred to the testimony of an escort that supported her argument. Despite what the defense posed, the escorts did not need to qualify prostitutes so that their conduct was considered a prostitution.
Supporting the accusation of racketeering, Comey listed a handful of alleged crimes made by combat employees in his name. “He is a guy who cannot get his own bottle of water or connect his own phone charger,” she said, which implies that of course, he does not commit his own crimes. “He is the general. Not a soldier, not a lieutenant. He delegated. And his inner circle did the dirty job for him,” added Comey, stressing his chief of staff Kristina Khorram as an alleged main co-conspirator.
Regarding accusations of distribution of drugs, Comey said: “There is no obligation that drugs are distributed for profit or large quantities to be illegal.” In other words, the combs putting erasure pills in Ventura and Jane would always be considered a distribution under the law.
The tone of his refutation has intensified while Comey approached the underlying argument of the defense: that Ventura, another rape accuser “Mia” and Jane “lie”. She explored the incentives of each alleged victim to commit a perjury. Ventura has already won a regulation of $ 20 million against Combs, so there is no money in charge there. In the same way, Mia has already settled with combs, and because she does not seek glory or attention, she testified under a pseudonym. And Jane, who has never continued her crowns and does not intend to, said that the defendant continues to pay her rents and her legal costs. For this reason, if she had an incentive to lie, it would be in favor of Combres, argued Comey.
Since the opening of the arguments in May, the defense has painted the accusers of combits as “strong” women in agency. “You know what, they are right about it,” said Comey. “They were strong enough to survive the accused to pass them and testify during this trial.”
Comey returned to what she called “the clearest example of sexual traffic in this case”, when, in June 2024, Combs would have violently attacked Jane before giving her drugs and having a “panic” with a male escort. “Does this coercion?” Combs would have said to Jane, mocking the federal investigation which is looming on him.
The trial reached an explosive highest point while Comey rested his refutation. “For 20 years, the accused escaped his crimes. It ends in this courtroom,” she said. “The accused is not a god. He’s a person. And in this courtroom, it is equal to the law. Crushing evidence proves his guilt. It is time to keep him responsible. Find him guilty. “
The jury could make its decision next week.
