How would you describe the overall appearance of 1923?

No more Gold Derby

The general aspect of the show is quite dark. It is a kind of basis in history. It is dark with this little light of hope, with the big ball at the end when everyone looks with buckets with buckets of tears. For the characters, Jacob Dutton [Ford] and Cara Dutton [Mirren]Their story really consists in having a darker palette of clothes because they crossed the turmoil and the stress of having this ranch and crossing the journey of living in the ranch. It is also contrasting of Alex [Julia Schlaepfer] And liz’s [Michelle Randolph] Palette, because when I spoke to Taylor of these two characters, they are really the eternal brides. Their palette is quite light.

What was the biggest challenge to work on the series?

Work with the huge amount of extras – 5,000 extras. And we turned to Texas and people were furious and heavy layers and founded through their costumes. It was really the difficult part of the work because they had to look cold when it was 108 degrees outside.

Where do you get inspired by the costume design?

I do a lot of online research at different fixed images and photographs and newspapers from the 1920s. I assembled the design book for each character. It’s really useful for me. I love to share it with my crew, with Taylor and of course, with the actors.

What is your favorite part of work?

I love all the casting. Harrison is a riot. Helen, she is hysterical. I think that the fittings for me are really only the most fun part because it is the actor’s transformation into a character. I love telling this story.
