The dead end to which the Supreme Court has left the door open is there

President Trump claimed to dismiss the governor of the Lisa Cook Federal Reserve on Sunday, an unprecedented and unsurprising decision in his quest to store the former independent bank of friends who will reduce interest rates.

COOK, to probable personal expenses – both financial and reputation – retaliated, his abbe Lowel lawyer promising to put legal action to challenge his withdrawal. Bill Pulte, Magi Keyboard Warrior who became director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, apparently used his position to scan Mortgage documents from Trump’s enemies for any puff of irregularity or error, then put them back to the Ministry of Justice for a complete criminal investigation. Cook is only the last villain of the Maga cinematographic universe to obtain such treatment, after Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA) and New York AG Leticia James.

The case contesting the very first presidential dismissal of a governor of the Fed will almost certainly go to the Supreme Court – where the end of the mission of the Conservatives to lead the independent agency to the extinction will be tested.

The right majority of the courtyard was largely joyful to co-register the unleashing of Trump through the federal government, the weakening of executive branch agencies being a special hobby for chief judge John Roberts in particular. While they blessed his dismissals of members of the board of directors who were considered to be protected against at will, they inserted a warning.

“Finally, the respondents Gwynne Wilcox and Cathy Harris argue that the arguments in this case necessarily imply the constitutionality of the protections for the abolition of causes for the members of the Governors’ Council of the Federal Reserve or other members of the Federal Committee of the Open Market,” said the majority opinion that is not signed (the three Liberals have dissipated). “We do not agree. The federal reserve is a single quasi-private entity which follows in the distinct historical tradition of the first and second banks of the United States. ”

But all that really seems to be telling us is that the court does not agree with Trump who draws governors fed at will. This is not what it is. He claims that he draws Cook for the reason: the allegations of mortgage fraud. This will leave the Supreme Court to decide, for the first time in its history, if this “cause” is sufficient.

The conservatives may encounter other minor obstacles: Georgetown’s law professor Marty Lederman, underlined a 1903 decision that a suggested opinion and hearing could be a requirement for the referral because of a president. But case law is predictable in an area previously not tested by presidential power.

And it is not tested for a reason. While the presidents tried to manipulate the Fed for their own ends before, the need for its independence has always been obvious. Anyone with participation in a stable economy wishes an independent central bank which can make reasonable and foreseeable decisions at the time of the rise and the decline in interest rates rather than a partisan appendage which could explode the economy while trying to guarantee good conditions to strengthen the political position of a president.

For this president, however, the choice between a stable economy and a possible short -term political gain is not close.

The GOP representative breaks with Trump on the future levels for the military occupation of blue cities

Republican legislators are still back home in their districts for the long recess of August and it seems that at least one was courageous enough to organize an event of the town hall in person in the middle of the reaction of the summer of militarized harassment of Trump of people who live in blue cities.

Representative Mark Alford (R -MO) – which represents the 4th district of the Missouri Congress, which massively supported Trump in 2024 – held a town hall this week, during which he asked questions from the public members who cried and argued with each other concerning the deployment by Trump of the National Guard to DC and Los Angeles. Alford would have told voters that he was good with Trump’s decision to send troops to Los Angeles and Washington if They are sent in response to protests against the application of Trump’s immigration.

“But I don’t think we should send the National Guard to other cities unless the governor, unless the governor [asks]”He said, by NBC News.

This would seem to disagree with the supposed plans of the president to deploy troops in other blue cities such as Baltimore and Chicago – the two blue cities with black mayors (the same goes for the and DC) which, according to him, are the next on his list.

“Wait a minute, you have problems in your state-from homelessness, people cannot rebuild, crush taxes and regulations-why don’t you focus on repairs rather than trying to be cheeky with the President of the United States?” Desantis told Sean Hannity de Fox News this week, when the two discussed Newsom’s efforts to counter the madness of the Trump’s national scale.
