The current cucumber recall linked to Salmonella extends to at least 16 states

On May 19, Boynton Beach’s Bedner producers, Florida, voluntarily remembered cucumbers sold in three Florida locations: Boynton Beach, Delray Beach and West Palm Beach. The cucumbers recalled were also distributed by new sales of departure products in stores, restaurants and other facilities nationally between April 29 and May 19, 2025.
Cucumbers can be contaminated by salmonella, a bacteria that can cause a particularly dangerous digestive disease in children, the elderly and people with compromise immune systems.
The FDA says that contaminated cucumbers may have been sold individually or in smaller packets with or without Bedner’s growth label.
If you have cucumbers at home and you cannot say where they come from, you should throw them away, the CDC advises and wash or disinfect the surfaces that may have touched the cucumbers.
Several national grocery history channels have alerted customers of specific cucumber products, in particular:
- Harris Teeter Withdrawn from its whole cucumber stores and small and large vegetable trays distributed by sales of fresh departure products.
- Kroger And other grocery stores have withdrawn prepackled sushi of Yummi sushi containing the recalled cucumbers.
- Walmart Reminder of early cucumber slices in certain Texas stores.
- Audience Buyers informed of the risk posed by certain fresh cucumbers and prefabricated salads that have been sold to the grocer.
What are the symptoms of Salmonella’s disease?
- Diarrhea
- Fever
- Stomach cramps
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Chills
- Headache
- Sometimes blood in the stool
People affected usually begin to notice the symptoms within 8 to 72 hours of exposure. Often infected people think they have a stomach bug.
If you think you fell ill from Salmonella, you should ask for medical care if your symptoms last for more than a few days, if you have a high fever or bloody stools, or if you feel seriously dehydrated.
Most healthy people can recover without treatment in a few days for a week. Some people may need antibiotics, especially if you have a weakened immune system or if the infection spreads to blood circulation.
