The current cucumber recall linked to Salmonella extends to at least 16 states

More than two dozen people have become sick and at least nine people were hospitalized after eating cucumber -related cucumbers with several states, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) were reported jointly on May 23.

On May 19, Boynton Beach’s Bedner producers, Florida, voluntarily remembered cucumbers sold in three Florida locations: Boynton Beach, Delray Beach and West Palm Beach. The cucumbers recalled were also distributed by new sales of departure products in stores, restaurants and other facilities nationally between April 29 and May 19, 2025.

Cucumbers can be contaminated by salmonella, a bacteria that can cause a particularly dangerous digestive disease in children, the elderly and people with compromise immune systems.

The FDA says that contaminated cucumbers may have been sold individually or in smaller packets with or without Bedner’s growth label.
