If Chicago Cubs will succeed in October, they must certainly have Kyle Tucker in their range. But even then, Tucker’s difficulties in the second half would suggest that if he played injured, he is far from the player who generated MVP consideration of the National League during the first half of the season. Add to the fact that Seiya Suzuki has seemed lost in the past two months, and the Cubs can be forced to turn to an unknown hero.
This hero could be Michael Busch. For all the successes that Jed Hoyer had taken for his eagerness to abandon the international prospects before having erupted in the Cubs system, the busch trade seems to have been a stroke of genius. This does not withdraw the price that Cubs had to pay. Zyhir Hope and Jackson Ferris are worthy of media threw, but Busch is already at the major league and is one of the best offensive basic players in baseball. Without forgetting, Busch continues to rise to being a candidate for Gold Glove Award during the coming seasons.

Upon entering the game Thursday, Busch had an oblique bar line on the season of .256 / .338 / .499 with 31 circuits and a 133 WRC +. Given the injuries of Tucker, the inconsistency of Suzuki and the pitches adapting to Pete Crow-Armstrong, Busch could be the key to the Cubs offensive in October. Beyond that, the case can be put forward outside Nico Hoerner, Busch was the most coherent striker in the Cubs starting training this season.
One thing that has been at the center of the collective regression of cubs in the past two months of the season has been their inability to strike for power. If the cubs will have an extended race in the playoffs, this will have to change. Easier than to say, especially when Wrigley Field has again played to the advantage of launchers. But, repeatedly this season, the offensive efforts of Busch have carried the cubs, and this will have to reproduce in October.
