The crews fight fire in a car field in the Omaha-South Center

Omaha, neb. (Wowt) – Omaha fire services teams hit a hook while fighting a fire in a car field on Saturday afternoon.

Captain Fire of OFD, Eric Jeanneret, told First Alert 6 that a crew had been sent in a car field near the 60th and Q Streets on Saturday afternoon.

Once there, however, the crew noted that the fire terminals on the south side of the property were dry.

Jeanneret said that four engines had finally been called upon to provide around 2,700 feet of pipe to obtain water from the nearest fire.

Once the water is poured, Jeanneret said that the fire was easy to fight.

About 25 vehicles were burned following the fire. No injury is reported as a result of the fire.

Currently, the cause of the fire is unknown. An investigation is underway.
