Hwang Dong-Hyuk-The South Korean creator and writer of the successful series Netflix-spoke to people exclusively during the premiere of season 3 on Wednesday, June 18, at the Plaza Hotel in New York, where he was teasing that there is the “possibility” of a spin-off.
“I can’t just say now when and how it will happen,” he said. “But there is a chance.”

Hwang’s teasing comes as Calmar game should come back for his third and last season on June 27.
Season 3 should resume where the previous season stopped, with Seong Gi -Hun (Lee Jung -Jae) – Aka Player 456 – Licking his injuries after he and some of his candidacy comrades tried an unhappy rebellion against those who led the Squid match competition.
The story stopped with the failing players’ revolt, Hwang In-Ho (Lee Byung-Hun) proving to be the man of the front and the murder of Park Jung-Bae (Lee Seo-Hwan) before Gi-Hun.
“The third and last season of Calmar game Follows Gi-Hun after losing his best friend in the game and was led to despair by the Front Man, who hid his true identity to infiltrate the game, “said the official synopsis of season 3.
The synopsis continues, “Gi-Hun persists with its objective of putting an end to the game, while the Front-Front continues on its next movement and the choices of surviving players will lead to more serious consequences on each turn.”

Netflix abandoned an official trailer for the last season at their live Tudum 2025 event in May.
“Why didn’t you kill me? Why did you keep me alive? Why did you let me live?” Gi-Hun shouts in the clip while he is selected.
We also see surviving players forced to finish the Calmar game – including a twisted and deadly jump rope – in which they participated before the rebellion.
The trailer ends with Gi-Hun escorted to the control room to find itself face to face with the front of the man.
“Player 456, do you always have confidence in people?” The man before asks Gi-Hun to an end.
Calmar game Season 3 broadcasts on June 27 on Netflix.
