‘The Copenhagen Test’ sets premiere date, reveals trailer

Peacock has revealed that its upcoming thriller series, The Copenhagen test, will premiere on December 27. The project led by Simu Liu and Melissa Barrera also released first images (below) and a trailer (above).

From creator Thomas Brandon and executive producer James Wan, The Copenhagen test follows first-generation Chinese-American intelligence analyst Alexander Hale (Liu), who realizes that his brain has been hacked, giving the perpetrators access to everything he sees and hears. Caught between his shadowy agency and unknown hackers, he must maintain a performance 24/7 to flush out the person responsible and prove where his allegiance lies.

Barrera plays Michelle, a deceptive character who will keep everyone guessing. The series also stars Sinclair Daniel as Parker, an intelligence officer who gets drawn into a new world that she must quickly understand; Brian D’Arcy James as John Moira, a boss and mentor who is not afraid to make tough decisions; Mark O’Brien as Cobb, an ambitious intelligence agent; and Kathleen Chalfant as St. George, a quiet leader focused on the long game.

The teaser is brief but impactful.

“I will never knowingly betray my own country,” Liu says in the video as the mole Alexander Hale.

Hale will face extreme danger around every corner. He is warned: “If anyone suspects that you are compromised, you are dead. »

With the pressure high, things get pretty lonely when you don’t know who to trust. Getting close to Michelle can be hot, but how can you be sure you’re not working with the enemy?

Brandon serves as creator, writer and executive producer alongside co-showrunner and EP Jennifer Yale. Wan, Michael Clear and Rob Hackett serve as executive producers on Atomic Monster, with Liu also serving as EP. Mark Winemaker and Jet Wilkinson will also executive produce, with Wilkinson attached to direct the first two episodes. UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group, is the studio.
