Tottenham manager Thomas Frank missed his second summer player in the summer on Wednesday evening, so he has an urgent need for good news in terms of recruitment.
Despite the very advanced Spurs talks for Ebelechi Eze, Arsenal plunged to divert Daniel Levy’s negotiations after Kai Havertz’s injury, and they quickly hung over an agreement with the palace overnight.
Tottenham would have a verbal pact in place with Palace and agreed personal terms with Eze, so it looked like a question of time before the Northern Londoners welcomed him in N17.
However, the decision finally resolved in Eze, because the Spurs and Arsenal were ready to respond to palace requests at the club level.
The English international has chosen Arsenal because of its long -standing connection with them through its years from the Childhood Academy to the Club (Alasdair Gold), Frank and Levy have now returned to Square One in their quest for a number 10.
They participated in this position before this summer, Morgan Gibbs-White not having sealed which was once a very advanced move to Tottenham after Nottingham Forest blocked the agreement.
With the Spurs mission to sign a replacement for James Maddison which takes place with only 12 days before the transfer date on September 1, Lilywhites also have other positions they need to strengthen.
Frank believes that Tottenham actually needs two number 10 after Maddison’s long -term injury, but that the Danish gets his wish is another matter.
Elsewhere, it is reliably reported that Spurs also want to sign a new winger and a central defender (Michael Bridge).
Brentford captain, Nathan Collins, and Piero Hincie de Bayer Leverkusen are among Tottenham’s defensive targets, while Man City’s winger Savinho is still chased by Spurs despite the side of Pep Guardiola who blocks the agreement from now (Fabrizio Romano).
Believe it or not, the Brentford striker, Yoane Wissa, can also remain a possibility.

According to Craig Hope of the Mail, there is a feeling behind the scenes that the bees delay their agreement with Newcastle, after having rejected a second offer for the Congolese, because Brentford “wants to sell” Wissa in Tottenham instead – because of their relationship with Frank.
The dune would also be eager to sign his ex-star. However, any decision for Wissa depends on Richarlison’s share in the revitalized center forward and a club meeting its minimum valuation of 50 million pounds sterling.
The Brazilian has in fact been offered as a weight in the talks for Eze, according to this report, but that will no longer happen.
Perhaps if they can offer Richarlison in an exchange in part for another playmaker, the door could reopen for Wissa, but for the moment, the 29-year-old has his “heart” moving to St. James’ Park.
It would be an excellent replacement of Richarlison, scoring 19 Premier League goals last season and winning many praise for Frank in the past.
“Wissa, as we knew, has always been a goalscorer,” said Frank about Wissa in 2023.
“He scored seven goals in the first season and seven in the second in the Premier League, for a player who has not played much. It’s remarkable. I really think he is the best as 9. He has this nose for goals.”
