The city of Tybee Island shares the awareness video of the South End sand bar: “Be aware, stay safe”

Tybee Island, Ga. (Wtoc) – Saturday, the city of the island of Tybee shared a publication on social networks explaining awareness of the bar of the southern sand.
They urged beach enthusiasts to be aware and staying safe.
“Although it seems attractive, the Tybee South End Sand Bar is actually a very dangerous area where swimmers can quickly become mastered by the current during a rising tide,” wrote the city of Tybee.
They have written on the conditions that can turn into a risky situation.
“Rip currents, sudden bases and rapidly evolving tides can transform a fun day at the beach into a risky situation,” wrote the city of Tybee.

The city of Tybee also reminded beach lovers of the City Code of Tybee 12-1a (20). According to this code, “it is illegal for anyone to walk, swim or wade in the area of the southern sand bar.”
