Spurs thought they had “the next Lionel Messi” but it was sold for only 1 million pounds sterling
The impressive start of Tottenham Hotspur in the 2025/26 campaign is a huge credit for the new boss Thomas Frank, the dune having an immediate impact since he took the reins.
The 51 -year -old has won four of his first five competitive outings in charge of Lilywhites – a record that sees the third team in the Premier League table.
However, the most impressive of all, he managed to put an immediate solution to their defensive misfortunes, conceding only once in the process and keeping four clean leaves.
This is certainly a start, but the new boss played the role as a duck in the water – allowing the base of fans to quickly forget the 15th place of last season in England at the top steering wheel.
If it is to be a constant success during his mandate in northern London, he can rely on many high -level talents in the coming years, several of whom are currently in their young people.
Young spurs that could jump in the first team
The latest injury crisis campaign has opened up possibilities for young talents to invest their demand for a first team role – with Dane Scarlett one of the beneficiaries.
The 21 -year -old came back from his loan to the Oxford United championship team, making five appearances and having had an immediate impact on Angel Postocoglou.
He recorded a goal and two assists for the Lilywhites, with two of his contributions on an exit from the Europa League against Ellsborg in January.
Mikey Moore, 18, was another talent catapulted under the spotlight because of the injury crisis, subsequently 19 appearing in the first team in 2024/25.
However, despite his tender age, he had a serious impact on the team and on the basis of fans, becoming a manufacturer of regular appearance under Postocoglou.
Moore scored his first senior objective during his first professional campaign, but is currently spending the year on loan from the Rangers to save precious playing time to help its development.
Such talents highlight the quality of youth stars who brew under the surface, but Frank will not be able to count on a player after his departure from northern London in recent times.
The Spurs player who was sold for only 1 million pounds sterling
The impact of the Spurs Academy cannot be overestimated, especially given the high level talents that it is produced – nothing more than the Talisman Harry Kane.
He is perhaps now a player from Bayern Munich, but he was a favorite of fans in northern London, marking 280 times, which always sees him sit at the top of their goals of all time.
Such figures are a dream for any manager, but Frank undoubtedly wishes that he could count on such a clinical scorer – but unfortunately, he will never have this opportunity.
The same could be said of the winger Marcus Edwards, with English once considered one of the hottest young perspectives in world football – but he is sure to say that his career did not go as many things were expected.
He joined the club at the age of eight, spending all his youth years in the books in northern London, making only one appearance in the EFL Cup in 2016/17.
Following his ascent thanks to the configuration of the academy, the former boss Mauricio Pochettino labeled the striker “A Young Messi” – a huge bunch of praise which he ultimately failed to respect.
Edwards would join the Portuguese part Vitoria de Guimaraes in the summer of 2019 for remuneration fees of only 1 million pounds sterling, subsequently doing more than 100 appearances and acquires a precious main experience.

Such a fate would result in a transfer to the sports CP in January 2022, with Ruben Amorim, before moving to Burnley to help their promotion in the second half of the 2024/25 campaign.
He then joined the side of Scott Parker on a permanent base this summer, but once again fought for minutes, making only appearance in the Premier League to date.
At 26, it cannot be denied that his career has failed to take off because many people have it lower, potentially suffering from the enormous amount of expectations imposed on him in adolescence.
Now, expressing his job for high -flying clarets in England, he has the opportunity to make his brand, but he will need more regular playing time in the near future to help him resuscitate his formerly promising career.
