The champion twice Pete Alonso, Kyle Schwarber declines the invitations to the derby

The double champion Pete Alonso of the New York Mets said on Sunday that he would not participate in the Home Run Derby this year in Atlanta.
Alonso won the popular event which takes place one day before the star match in 2019 and 2021. He had participated in each of the last five times that the event has taken place.
“I decided not to do it this year,” Alonso told journalists on July 14 on Sunday. “I never really enjoyed three days of rest, so I just want to be in the best position possible to help this team win in the second period.
“I am in a groove with certain things. I will certainly do it again. It does not mean forever.
Alonso was chosen to play in the star match for the fifth time. It strikes. 287 with 20 circuits and 73 points produced in 91 games.
Philadelphia Phillies, Kyle Schwarber also said on Sunday that he would not be part of the derby. He participated in 2018 and 2022.
It is a good bet that Schwarber will strongly plan to be part of the competition next year when the All-Star game and the Home Run Derby are held in Philadelphia.
“I’m not going to do the home run derby,” said Schwarber on Sunday about the 2025 event. “Maybe see what’s going on next year.”
Schwarber was appointed to the star team for the third time in his career on Sunday. It strikes .251 with 27 circuits and 63 points produced in 90 games.
The other players who should transmit the event are Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees and Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
There are only three confirmed participants, the home run derby will be held a week from Monday – the seattle caller’s navy star (35 circuits), the Slipger of the Nationals of Washington, James Wood (23) and Atlanta Braves, outside Ronald Acuna Jr., who has nine circuits in 40 games since 40 games due to a lesion of ACL.
