McCrum has made massive contributions to Rajasthan Royals (RR), supervising strategic growth, digital transformation and fans’ engagement initiatives, and is also credited to shape the vast vision of the franchise. However, now Jake Lush McCrum has decided to separate from the franchise after a long and successful mandate.
“Cricbuzz understands that McCrum, born in England, which has served in many capacities in the operations of the Royals before being raised as CEO, called some colleagues franchises and friends from the industry to inform its exit from the Jaipur franchise, said the champions of the first season of the Indian Premier League (IPL),” said the Cricbuzz report.
Rahul Dravid exploits the ways with the Royals of Rajasthan
Jake Lush McCrum’s RR release occurs weeks after the legendary drummer from India and head coach Rahul Dravid separated from the franchise.
Dravid had a good long-term relationship with the Royals, but resigned as head coach a year only after work. He started his trip with the IPL inaugural champions in 2011 and was appointed captain of the team for 2012 and 2013. He has captain RR in 40 games and won 23.
In 2014 and 2015, Rahul Dravid was a mentor and director of the team. Then, after a long interruption, Dravid was appointed head coach of Rajasthan Royals in September 2024, in the back of the Victoire de la Cup de Cup T20 2024 as a chief coach of India.
He signed a multi -year agreement with the franchise, but in the 2025 IPL, the Royals of Rajasthan finished in ninth place on the table of points with only four victories in 14 games. After a horror show in IPL 2025, the Royals of Rajasthan offered a broader strategic role to Dravid, but he chose not to accept it.
Sanju Samson is also getting out of the Royals of Rajasthan
To worsen things, the captain of Rajasthan Royals (RR), Sanju Samson, should also separate from the franchise because he has already asked for his release.
According to the statements, Sanju Samson is not satisfied with the management of RR and some of the decisions which were made before the mega Sale of IPL 2025, including the release of Jos Buttler.
The final decision on the question of whether Samson will be forced to stay, exchanged to another franchise or released in the auction will be taken by the owner of the team, Manoj Badale.
According to reports, even if Samson stays with the franchise, he will not make him handed over the captain, and one among Riyan Parag and Yashasvi Jaiswal will be appointed new skipper.
