The Casio fur robot, which connects stress, arrives in the United States

Unlike the Sony Aibo robotic dog which can walk in your home, Moflin cannot move alone. Its movements are limited to its head which can turn from one side to the other and tilt from top to bottom that the robot uses to express emotions and a simulated affection. It is designed to be held and cuddled to provide “a soothing presence” and “silent comfort”, according to Casio. But Moflin is not completely silent. It can make silent sounds that will evolve over time to feel more expressive in order to create a stronger simulated link with you.
Moflin can also recognize individual people through their voices and responds to the touch through hidden sensors under his fur. Using AI, it will develop a unique personality over time depending on how you interact with it, which will vary from person to person. Moflin can end up being cheerful and moving vigorously while making sounds, or it can become silent, docile and shy if the robot does not interact enough. Despite being an electronic device, Casio has not included a way to reset Moflin if you don’t like the personality it develops. Like a real pet, you will have to take care of it responsible for the start.
