The cards opt for the 8th consecutive victory in the final of the VS Nats series

The Cardinals of St. Louis bring the longest sequence of current victories of the majors in the final of the series Sunday afternoon against the host of Washington Nationals.
St. Louis won his seventh consequence on Saturday, and a victory on Sunday would mark the longest sequence of the club since he won eight consequences from August 14 to 22, 2022. The Minnesota Twins also bring a sequence of victories of seven matches in Sunday’s action.
After a 14-19 start, the cardinals used a series of impressive pitch performance to shoot the Chicago Cubs of the National League in the two games of the Chicago.
Andre Pallante launched 7 1/3 two -point ball rounds on Saturday, stamped a section of four consecutive games with a starter of the cardinals granting two points or less.
“It was another good match on all sides,” said St. Louis manager Oliver Marmol. “We worked on (Starter Nationals Trevor) Williams early, then we made beautiful pieces of diving defensively. All the sides click and it was fun to watch. … (our beginners) did a good job.
“Nothing ordinary, to be honest. They are determined to use their business as they know. They have done a good job to understand who is in the box and worked very well with our catchers.”
Miles Mikolas (1-2, 4.76 ERA), in its eighth beginning of the year, will seek to continue the greedy race of staff on Sunday. On Monday, the veteran right-hander granted three points in five rounds in the event of non-decision against the Pittsburgh Pirates during a 6-3 cardinal victory.
Mikolas has a 4-3 file with an MPM of 3.42 in 10 career appearances (nine starts) against Washington.
The nationals tend in the opposite direction, after losing four games in a row. Washington was outclassed 14-2 in the first two games of the weekend set, extending a series of games lower at the Manager Davey Martinez club.
“Two things should happen,” said Martinez. “We have to stop walking and hit the guys, and offensively, we have to start accepting walks. This is the net result. We have to accept our walks and stop chasing throws. This is how we are going to do shopping; this is how we will come back and start winning matches.”
Washington only recorded an additional blow on Saturday and withdrew eight times, dropping the club’s stick to 0.240. The Nationals era is 5.43 – the third worst in the majors.
Mackenzie Gore (2-3, 3.33) takes the mound on Sunday, looking for his second victory at Nationals Park this season. The left -hander leads the team with 68 stick withdrawals – nine from which came last Sunday against the Reds of Cincinnati. Gore has only granted one round in five rounds in a decision without a decision in a victory by Washington 4-1.
Gore will aim better against the cardinals, because he has 0-1 with an MPM of 10.05 in three career starts against Saint-Louis.
