The bus family agrees to sell Lakers in Mark Walter, say sources

The bus family has concluded an agreement to sell the majority property of Los Angeles Lakers in Mark Walter, CEO of the Diversified Portfolio Company Twg Global, sources said in ESPN.
Jeanie Buss will continue to play her role as Governor of Lakers, sources said.
Walter is interested in several professional sports organizations, notably the Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Sparks, the Billie Jean Cup, the Cadillac Formula 1 team and the professional female hockey league.
Lakers have belonged to the bus family since 1979, when Jerry Buss bought the franchise from Jack Kent Cooke in a transaction of $ 67.5 million which also included the Kings of Los Angeles and the Los Angeles forum.
Lakers went to buses in her death in 2013, and his daughter Jeanie has been governor of the Lakers since.
Walter has been a stakeholder in the Lakers since 2021, when he also received the right to first refusal on the majority of the team.
