‘The Boys’ Biggest Gen V Cameo Could Help Heroes Finally Defeat Homelander

Editor’s Note: The following contains spoilers for Generation V Season 2, Episode 6.

Generation V is more than a spin-off of The boysbecause the two competing series are deeply linked. More than existing in the same world, each new season of a show impacts the other’s storyline, as The boys Season 4 focuses on the super virus that Generation V introduced, or Generation VExploring the impact of Homelander (Anthony Starr) control. Even more directly, Generation V Season 2 has already brought back several familiar facesincluding Annie (Erin Moriarty), Sister Sage (Susan Heyward), Firecracker (Valerie Curry), and The Depths (Chace Crawford), and this week’s episode adds Stan Edgar (Giancarlo Esposito) to the list.

As the former CEO of Vought International and adoptive father of Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit), Stan played a major role in the original series, making his Generation V all the more significant cameo. In a surprising twist, he might actually be a hero this time around, but Stan remains an ambitious and calculating character who could be more dangerous than he seems.. He may say all the right things, but he’s always looking out for his own self-interest, which includes stopping Homelander and anyone else who might be working with him at the moment.

First appeared in The boys In season 1, Stan is shown to be both a ruthless businessman and a devoted father. Given his prominent role at Vought, Stan has undoubtedly made some questionable choices, like covering up Homelander’s worst actions and hiring Stormfront (Aya Cash). Yet he also strongly opposes Homelander, using his position to keep the leader of the Seven in his place as much as possible – at least until Homelander takes action against him, leaving him in disgrace and removing him from Vought. Through his antagonistic relationship with Homelander, Stan proves himself to be a dangerous man if he finds himself on the wrong side of society.; after all, few can resist such a powerful enemy. But Homelander isn’t the only villain Stan interacts with. As Victoria Neuman’s father, he worked with her for a while and their past brings out a different side of him. However, despite their love for each other, Victoria betrays him, leading to his downfall and suggesting that he has succeeded in instilling his own cruelty in her.

However, Stan is not a true villain. He was willing to negotiate with Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) and his team; In The boys Season 4, they break him out of prison to help them locate the super virus that Victoria stole. The boys makes it very clear that Stan’s defining character trait is his self-interestwhich even motivates him to turn against Victoria in season 4 before her death. His intelligence and ambition place him somewhere between a hero and a true villain, making him an interesting choice to include. Generation Vwhere the heroes are not yet fighting Homelander himself, but the institution run by Vought, Godolkin University.

Stan Edgar Plays a Helpful Role in ‘Gen V’ Season 2

Whatever its history, Stan Edgar leans more than ever towards heroism when he appears in Generation V. Still on the run after his recent prison escape, one might expect Stan to be less in control than he usually is, but that’s not the case. He suddenly enters history when he and his granddaughter, Zoe (Olivia Morandin), show up to save Mary (Jaz Sinclair) and his friends. After being attacked by Vikor (Tait Fletcher), Marie is cornered, but Zoé kills the threat just in time. And, just as importantly, Stan is one of the few people who can actually get the group somewhere safe. He takes the team to a bunker designed to hide from the supes, offering his seemingly endless resources for their use, which is a big help to the kids who are dangerously close to being captured.

But Stan does even more for them, using his vast knowledge of Vought’s history to help them piece together the truth. He also explains the Odessa Project more clearly, revealing that Homelander is also a product of the experience, which further ties him to Marie. His information helps students understand the identity of the Cipher Man (Hamish Linklater) remains alive, which was one of the questions they didn’t have an answer to. Thanks to his knowledge and his desire to help Marie, Stan gives the heroes a helping hand. and encourages Marie to use her incredible power, thereby boosting her confidence. Even though Stan does nothing for the good of humanity, the positive impact he has on Generation V is hard to ignore.

Although Stan undoubtedly helps Marie, Generation V hints that he has a plan that has less to do with what happens in God U. Stan tells Marie in no uncertain terms that whoever survives the coming conflict will reshape the world, hinting at his larger plan because, in keeping with the man’s character The boys introduced so long ago, none of this comes from the goodness of Stan’s heart. He doesn’t have an explanatory speech to tell the audience exactly what he thinks, but Stan had a plan when he searched for Marie. He even admits that he wanted to make a deal with her, hoping to offer her his power once he regains control of Vought in exchange for her help, but to regain the power he once held, Stan will have to replace Homelander himself.

When it comes to allies, Marie can’t be picky, and Stan’s willingness to help him against Cipher, and ultimately stop Homelander from his path of destruction, puts him on the right side.at least for now. However, Stan isn’t exactly reliable. His tenure as head of Vought sparked the unrest that has taken hold, so he is not the best person to return control to. Perhaps most notably, he made deals and covered up scandals for the worst of them, including Homelander. He doesn’t even particularly care about the students he seems to have taken under his wing so far. Even though he may be one of the most influential and intelligent people in the world, Stan Edgar should not be completely trusted.
