Star Fox Dev was not too annoyed that his suite “ canceled ” was delayed by 22 years, because he did not want the SNES game to be compared to the Playstation “obviously far superior”

One of the developers of the Star Fox suite canceled was just a little happy that his game was not launched with regard to, because he would never have resisted the newly launched PlayStation.
In 1995, Nintendo planned to launch Star Fox 2 on the SNES in August. In the middle of the year, the game was almost finished, but Nintendo, choosing to focus on the next N64 and its 3D graphics, canceled the launch. Star Fox 2 was finished behind the scenes – with tests and the location of the AQ – but was only born when it was launched as part of the SNES Classic collection in 2017.
According to Star Fox and Star Fox 2, the programmer Dylan Cuthbert, however, the team could have been less disappointed with the lack of exit you expect. Addressing Retro Gamer, Cuthbert said that “I do it with the IS that had been published, but at the same time, the PlayStation had just launched and was obviously much 3D Graphics.”
The launch of the Sony console in 1994 seemed to be concerned about Nintendo, and Cuthbert says that it “would not have like our game to compare” to the graphics of the Playstation. This does not mean that he never wanted Star Fox 2 to have daylight, however – he said that he was “very happy” that he finally obtained his launch, although more than 20 years later than expected.
Cuthbert played a leading role in several other Star Fox projects, which leading both Star Fox Command for the Nintendo DS in 2006, and Star Fox N64 3D for 3DS in 2011.
