The boss of Manchester United Ruben Amorim says that Bruno Fernandes is “one of the best players in the world” and not to sell
Ruben Amorim described Bruno Fernandes today as “clearly one of the best players in the world” and said he wanted him to stay in Manchester United.
Fernandes was this week linked to Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia to the Pro League team capable of offering the midfielder’s midfielder in Portugal to leave Old Trafford for the Middle East.
Speaking before the Europa League conflict tomorrow evening with Athletic Bilbao, Amorim clearly said he wanted his captain to remain and be a key element in the team revision.
“It’s easy to understand [his importance] Not just because of the figures, but the way he plays and the things he has done in his five years here, “he said about Fernandes, who scored 19 goals and added 16 assists in 52 appearances this season.
“He’s a better player and we need better players. He is a leader. He is the captain. It is therefore really important.
“It is normal that there are many clubs who want a player like Bruno, but we want to keep our best players. And Bruno is clearly one of the best players in the world.
“So our idea does not change. We clearly want Bruno here.”

Everything is possible tomorrow evening – Amorim
United heads towards the second floor of their semi-final against the Basque side with an advantage of 3-0 of the first match in San Mames.
Athletics entered as slight favorite, but saw their gaming plan torn when defender Dani Vivian was sent after 35 minutes for a foul on Rasmus Hojlund who led to a penalty that Fernandes marked.
And Amorim quickly highlighted the speed with which things can change and highlighted the need for his players to be fully concentrated on the task in hand.
“If you watch our season, everything is possible. We have to understand this,” he added.
“One goal can change everything – the momentum of the game. The one sends can.
“Of course, this counts in the way we are going to do things, but we only think we win the match tomorrow.”
Amorim is wary of the inconsistency of United
The only coherent thing about United this season was their inconsistency.
“If you look at our team, you can’t say what will happen today,” added Amorim.
“There are teams in any league who can understand that a match will be like that and they can control the story. We cannot do this. So we have to face the game as one more game.
“I think we have to score to go to the next round. This is clear that we are going to face the game.
“We will also have to suffer a little to go to the final and be better in small details.”
Sports absences do not facilitate things
Athletic will be without Nico and Inaki Williams and the top scorer Orhan Sancet by an injury, as well as Vivian because of the suspension, but Amorim says that his team must still be suspicious.
He said, “For us, it doesn’t matter. For us, this is the best team of Athletic Bilbao. I understand that it is difficult to play without key players. But for us, it doesn’t matter.

United will be without central defender Matthijs de Ligt after suffering an injury to Brentford this weekend.
