When Enzo Maresca took over in Chelsea, we clearly expected that big changes arrive. Some players have adopted the new era; Others, unfortunately, have been left behind.
In his latest declaration, Maresca drew a line under the future of Axel Disasi and Raheem Sterling, confirming that there is “no way to return” for one or the other player in the configuration of the first Chelsea team.
Disasi and Sterling were part of what is called Chelsea’s “Bomb Squad”, players who could not get movements during the recent transfer window and who now train separately from the first team.
Enzo MARESCA did not mash his words on Sterling & Disasi
They do it on different locations, at different times, with a limited interaction or not with the main team. Articulation clearly his intention, Maresca said he had seen none since the start of the season.
About the future of the two Chelsea players, said Maresca, as fabricated by Fabrizio Romano:
“There is no way to return to our team for Axel Disasi and Raheem Sterling”.
For Disasi, loan offers have been reported in premier league clubs and interests abroad, but he refused the moves to West Ham and Bournemouth.
He had apparently hoped to return to Monaco, where he played before and where he has strong emotional ties. However, none of these options materialized in the way that would lead him to be part of Maresca’s plans.
Sterling, on the other hand, had an equally difficult period, despite the public speculation of interested clubs and potential transfers, nothing happened before the deadline, leaving him trapped outside the Maresca team.
Chelsea Boss showed a ruthless mentality

Maresca seems determined to build a clear nucleus team, moving away from marginal players.
The separation of training sends a strong message on professionalism, expectations and unit of the squad.
This also suggests that Chelsea is willing to carry the financial burden of contracts if necessary, even if it means paying players who are not part of the game team.
