As a scientific journalist, there are stories to which you return again and again. There is climate change, of course – the biggest story of our time. Then there are the big questions, as “what is consciousness?” Or “Are we alone in the universe?”, And so on. But one of the stories that I just can’t give up is a mathematical argument that has been raging for more than a decade. I call it “proof that is true only in Japan”.
