The best new programs and movies on Netflix, Prime Video, Disney Plus and Plus

Welcome to the latest edition of our weekly guide to the best new shows and films! Here you will find seven fantastic movies and television programs that are all available in broadcast this week.
With so many options there, it is always difficult to choose what to look at. This is why we have drawn up this list, which covers many of the best streaming services, including Netflix, Disney Plus, Apple TV Plus and HBO Max.
It is a particularly strong week for new shows, with both science fiction comedy Murderbot and the retro thriller Duster who both received elegant criticism. Meanwhile, one of the most acclaimed films last year is finally streaming. There is something for everyone here, and a lot to cover, so let’s go directly …
Murderbot Season 1
Available: United States / United Kingdom
Where to look: Apple TV Plus
Alexander Skarsgård is perfectly presented as a safety cyborg that is bored who prefers to watch television rather than working in this new science fiction comedy. Having hacked its own systems and reaches free will, the autonomous “Murderbot” must hide its new sensitivity found when responsible for providing a daycare service to certain hippie scientists, one of which, the Gurathin of David Dastmalchian, is pending.
Despite the title (which our hero adopts only because he thinks that it seems cool) this series, inspired by the books The Murderbot Diaries of Murderbot, is a sweet and funny spectacle on humanity and its many quirks, while the growing irritation of Skarsgård with “stupid F ***** G Humans” is delicious – and rasting.
Maybe one day we will add Murderbot to our list of Best Apple TV Plus emissions.
Street Fear: Ball queen

Available: United States / United Kingdom
Where to look: Netflix
The fourth episode of the Fear Street franchise brings us back to the end of the 80s for a retro-slasher inspired, once again, by the novels of RL Stine. The annual Shadyside High ball is fast approaching, and the competition to crown the queen of the ball of the year is warmed up. It is not long, however, however, before some of the girls who were lower than the competition begins to disappear, and a hooded silhouette is spotted on the campus …
Prom Queen is the first autonomous film in the universe of Fear Street, which means that you do not need to see the original trilogy to enjoy it. If you have, however, you will know what to expect here: Gore, Gags and a tense struggle for survival.

Season 1 of Duster 1

Available: United States / United Kingdom
Where to look: HBO Max
Josh Holloway de Lost takes the lead in this new criminal thriller full of action co-created by JJ Abrams and Latoya Morgan. Holloway (resembling how he did the way he did like Sawyer all these years ago!) Plays Jim Ellis, a qualified flight driver who teams up with FBI agent Nina Hayes (Rachel Hilson) to eliminate the high-level gangster who may have killed his brother.
Located in the 1970s, and with more than a suspicion of Tarantino in its DNA, this stroll with fine and elegant sensations draws the best party from the charm and talent in the southern Holloway for action. The first episode is already streaming and the start of the buzz around Duster was super strong. Could this be one of the surprise successes of the year?

The brutalist

Available: United States / United Kingdom
Where to look: HBO Max
The epic historical drama of Brady Corbet is one of the most buzzing films of the year and has received an appointment of the best image of the Oscars. He was beaten by the excellent Anora, but Adrien Brody won a prize for the best deserved actor for his performance as an architect László Tóth, which we meet for the first time in 1947 when he started a new life in the United States.
Topping for more than 30 years (and more than three hours of screen time), we learn that Tóth is both a Holocaust survivor and a famous architect. Brody is simply surprising in the role: a brilliant, obsessive and radiant trauma. Hope is in the form of Guy Pearce’s industrialist, Harrison Lee Van Buren, who committed the commissions to design a community center, but their relationship soon begins to disintegrate. A great film in all directions, the brutalist is a powerful achievement full of ideas and art.
She the people season 1

Available: United States / United Kingdom
Where to look: Netflix
Tyler Perry is behind this new comedy series on the election of the first Mississippi Black Lieutenant-Governor. Antoinette Dunkerson, played by Terra J. Vaughn, must fight against a sexist boss, while her family has trouble adapting to life in the eyes of the public.
Perry is not exactly known for her subtle political comments, and she does not seem to focus on Nitty’s work in Antoinette’s work, but it looks very funny. It is also a chance for Perry to work with familiar faces of his filmography, especially Vaughn (which appeared in Daddy’s Little Girls) and Jo Marie Payton (Meet the Browns). The first eight episodes of the season were released this week, with the second batch of eight after in August.

Uncommon

Available: United States / United Kingdom
Where to look: Netflix
Vince Vaughn, Susan Sarandon and Lorraine Bracco all play in this comedy with a big heart based on the history of the real life of Joe Scaravella who, after the death of his mother, hired a group of local grandmothers to work as chefs in his Italian restaurant on Staten Island.
Directed by the advantages of being a writer and director of Giroflores Stephen Chbosky, the non-nas are a film full of spirit and warm, but pleasantly anchored, on the survival of the ups and downs of life. The casting, which also includes Talia Shire and Linda Cardellini, is undeniably impressive, and the cooked food is delicious! A classic comfort film in manufacturing, perhaps.
Doctor who season 2

Available: UNITED KINGDOM
Where to look: Disney Plus / BBC Iplayer
The second season of Doctor Who is approaching his end, with the first of a two -part end in Disney Plus and BBC IPlayer this Saturday. The highest point of the previous episode, The Interstellar Song Contest ended with a revolutionary revelation on the nature of the mysterious Mrs Flood, and with the Tardis apparently compromised by a mysterious force.
The details on what is happening then are kept closely, but we know by a clip shown on the doctor of the complementary program which triggered that on Sunday Ruby of Millie Gibson is back, just like his ex-little friend Friend Conrad (Jonah Hauer-King), freed from prison and apparently associated with one of the doctor’s enemies …
