The gas leak stops in the street at College Station, causes evacuations

College Station, Texas (KBTX) – The Fire Service of the College station (CSFD) told KBTX that a gas leak had caused the closure of College Main Street.

CSFD said that a four to six -inch gas pipe had been struck by a construction team.

The call arrived just after 8 a.m. and the first speakers quickly blocked the area.

Atmos was called to the scene and works on repairs, but CSFD said that the repair could take hours because the roadway must be torn to finish the work.

No injury has been reported and the buildings in the immediate area of College Main and Cherry St. were evacuated.
