The BCCI plans to ban RCB from the IPL after the log? The secretary swears from ..

The Cricket Control Council in India (BCCI) made a decision concerning the stampede during the celebrations of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) IPL 2025 in Bengaluru. The BCCI secretary, Devajit Saikia, said that the Indian Cricket Board of Directors would not be “a silent spectator” in such situations.

The final match IPL 2025 was played on Tuesday June 3 in Ahmedabad. The Royal Challengers Bengaluru won the title by beating the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in an exciting meeting. Victory celebrations took place in Bengaluru the next day, June 4. He was notably the first victory of the IPL of RCB in 18 seasons.

However, a joyful opportunity quickly became tragic. During the celebrations, a stampede occurred in the middle of the big rally, leading to the death of 11 people and leaving many others injured. Addressing Cricbuzz, Devajit Saikia said that the board of directors planned to take action to regulate future post-championship celebrations in IPL. Although the celebration was organized by RCB as a private event, the BCCI is committed to preventing similar tragedies from reproducing.

“At one point, BCCI will have to do something. We cannot be a silent spectator,” said Saikia.

“It was a private affair of RCB, but we, at the BCCI, are responsible for cricket in India, and we will try to guarantee that such incidents do not come back in the future,” he added.

Four people arrested following the incident

A FIR was registered at the Cubbon Park police station in Bengaluru against the RCB, the director of the DNA Entertainment event, the Administrative Committee of the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), and others, accusing them of criminal negligence linked to the jostling.

After the incident, four people, including Nikhil Sosale (responsible for RCB marketing and income), Sunil Mathew (Vice-President of Business), Kiran Kumar (Senior Event Manager) and Sumanth (Ticketing Operations Directed at DNA Entertainment Private Limited), were arrested.

Meanwhile, the chief minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah, announced a remuneration of Rs. 10 Lakh for each family of the deceased.

The tragic jostling has triggered urgent requests for responsibility and changes in the management of events. Within the cricket community, there is more and more concern about the safety of crowds and the need to reconsider large -scale celebrations.

The head coach of India, Gautam Gambhir, was disappointed by the road celebrations open after the tragic incident. He stressed that people’s security should be absolute priority and added that such celebrations should be organized in controlled environments, such as stages inside.

“I think that people’s lives is much more important and I will continue to say. We can be careful not to hold this kind of roadshows and can probably make them do doors or something like that in a stadium,” said Gambir.

Devajit Saikia said the BCCI planned to consider implementing preventive measures soon, but the details concerning their format and their calendar have not yet been decided.
