The battery of the iPhone 17 Air would be very small and extremely robust

The Majin Bu leak has details on what is perhaps the battery of the next iPhone 17 air, the new ultra-thin iPhone that Apple would have revealed this fall.
BU declares that the battery has a capacity of 2900 mAh, which, as a reference, is smaller than the 3582 mAh of the iPhone 16 Pro and the 3561 MAH of the iPhone 16. The smaller capacity of the 17 air is not surprising, since the phone would be significantly fine. And while the capacity of 17 air is similar to that of the iPhone XR (2942 mAh) from 2018, drawing conclusions based on the life of the XR battery (which was 11.24 Wattheures) is not relevant, because battery technology, internal components and IOS energy efficiency have changed over the past seven years.
BU also declares that the battery will use a steel case like the one used with the iPhone 16 Pro. It seems likely that the steel case will be used throughout the iPhone 17 range to provide improved heat dissipation, higher structural resistance, optimized integration, as well as “higher load powers”, writes BU. In June, a report indicated that the iPhone 17 could support the Qi 2.2 standard which allows up to 50 wireless load watts.
