Moyo Odebunmi, a junior behind in Cleveland High and from Nigeria who had never played university football before this season, quickly adapts to the speed of the game.
Thursday evening, against Arleta, his first three races resulted in touched points of 68, 85 and 59 yards. He also caught a touchdown and obtained a return to kick off 99 yards in the victory of Cleveland 70-37. He finished with 303 yards on the ground.
Odebunmi, which measures 5 feet 7 inches and 155 pounds, did not play football in the first year, released last season and learned the match on university junior. Now, coach Mario Guzman has not found enough places to use it.
“We did it everywhere on the ground,” said Guzman. “It’s just an athlete that we have to have there.”
