It is one of the bitter irony of life that, long before the satanic horror of today’s assassination (September 10, 2025), I intended to write an article promoting the last album of the talented worship artist Rachel Wilhelm, based on the Book of the Hose. In this document, we find these words that have approached news and the world today:
Because they sowed the wind, and they will harvest the whirlwind

Is there a better message for today?
If you have already listened to my Cephas Hour podcast, you have heard the excellent work of Rachel Wilhelm. It is one of those rare artists who combine artistic quality with ministerial integrity, creating a transparent merger of art and worship which blesses and builds even if it satisfies a desire for pure music, rich in sophisticated melody and in accompaniment but with the fight against commercial considerations. But why dare as the theme of his new album?
“I chose Hosée because I like the prophets and I think they have a lot to say about our time today. This album is different from my others. If you refresh your memory by reading the 14 chapters of daring, and you read it slowly, you will see a god who cares about abuse. Sex deals with their sons and daughters to cultivated prostitution and to kill their babies for a god who is not the true God.
Hosea is a reading that gives to think, written under the reigns of Oziah, Jotham, Ahaz and Ezéchias, who were kings of Judea. The four make an interesting quartet. Uzziah was considered a good king, but was finally the victim of his own pride and, therefore, died a leper. His son Jotham was also considered a good king, but the scriptures note that under his reign, the people “continued their corruption practices”. Ahaz was an evil king who loved the idols and suffered a lot, while the Ezéchias was exactly the opposite.
God ordered the Hose to marry a prostitute, which he did and with whom he had children. God also ordered the Osée, after his wife returned to his old ways, to take it back. Thanks to the Hosea, God pronounced words of condemnation and comfort, without compromise in his denunciation of their sin but just as insapping to extend his mercy and his love for his people.
The daring is a message as much for today as during the period of his writing. We need both its challenge and its comfort. We are fortunate to have artists such as Rachel Wilhelm who are in line with the word and the creative power of God working through his creation for the benefit of others. Currently, Wilhelm, a real independent artist, is trying to collect enough money to finish and release his new album. She is not looking for an exorbitant amount.
