The anchor of short stories suspended for a non -partisan tribute to Charlie Kirk – Redstate
Beni Harmony was anchor / lifestyle journalist for WICS ABC20 in Springfield, Illinois. However, according to Harmony page X and Facebook, she was suspended for a tribute Friday on the antenna on the assassination of the co-founder and CEO of TPUSA, Charlie Kirk.
Instead of accepting the suspension, Harmony has chosen to resign. According to the tribute, Harmony seemed to have a personal link with Kirk and said that Kirk was “the first person who made me believe in me”. In post X, she included this tribute to the air. His message, although tearful, sincere and encouraging, has not become a supporter or divider. The same cannot be said of the large -scale media and the national inherited media, which spat stupid and a little pure and simple vitriol since the kirk murder on Wednesday.
During the last week and weekends, we had a plethora of stories showing doctors, nurses and exposed teachers, then dismissed to openly celebrate the assassination of Kirk. But now we have what seems to be the first case of a suspended person because they have talked about Kirk well and offered a brilliant tribute.

Harmony published the complete resignation letter on her Facebook page, with an image of her putting her back on the camera. Harmony wears a t-shirt with an American flag emblem.

The suspension by WICS is an interesting flex. The news is scripted, programmed and timed in the second, it is therefore doubtful that his decision to pay this tribute was impromptu or Ad Libbed. It has probably been approved by one or more producers. We wonder why they chose to suspend it for having done it.

Then, you have an old correspondent of the Arizona Fox 10 who, in 2020, also chose to resign from a high -level and lucrative anchor point. We all know her as the acting CEO of Voice of America and the former candidate for the Governor and Senate Kari Lake.
Thus, harmony has made the right movement. Hat of her because she followed the example of Charlie Kirk to live and walk in her values, aloud and without excuses. Independent journalism and new media are developing and becoming a more powerful force, while the inherited media continue to collapse and slip into non-all.
Expect to review harmony earlier, rather than later. If Kari Lake’s trajectory is an indication, Harmony can be found with a larger platform and a greater range than the one she left.
