The Ajit Agarkar chair in dark clouds? Pragyan Ojha gets orders to be ready while BCCI officially floats order

The former Spinner of India, Pragyan Ojha, is expected to become a member of the main selection committee as a national selector. The Cricket Control Council in India (BCCI) is likely to make changes to the Committee, notably the chief selector Ajit Agarkar, SS Das, Subroto Banerjee, Ajay Ratra and S Sharath.

India has managed leading leadership transitions during the mandate of Ajit Agarkar as chief selector. Shubman Gill was appointed test captain and Suryakumar Yadav took over Captain T20i. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma withdrew from T20is and Tests, and Ravichandran Ashwin moved away from all formats.

The BCCI invited the requests of two positions in the National Male Selection Committee, the candidates required to have played at least seven test games, or 30 first class games, or 10 ODI, as well as 20 first class games.

Applicants must have retired at least five years ago and have been located in the BCCI Cricket Committee for a total of five years. According to the Times of India, Pragyan Ojha should join the national zone of the southern zone, replacing S. Sharath.

Sharath ends his four -year term, the maximum authorized by the rules of the BCCI. He could return as chief selector of the Junior Selection Committee, a role he had previously occupied.

Pragyan Ojha made his Odi debut against Bangladesh during the 2008 Asian Cup, taking 2/43. He then played his debut in the test a year later against Sri Lanka, saying four counters. Ojha was considered a key candidate to associate Harbhajan Singh after the retirement of Anil Kumble.

The left arm spinner reached the top of his test career around 2011, picking up 100 test counters between 2010 and 2013.

Ojha took 113 counters in 24 tests at an average of 30.26, including seven holders of five titles. He played his latest test in November 2013, which was also the farewell match of Sachin Tendulkar. The Spinner finished with 113 test counters, 21 ODI counters and 10 T20I counters.
