Man United will seek to collect funds to make a number of signatures this summer, but a possible method that had been reported in recent days now seems to have been closed.
Earlier this week, it was reported that Real Madrid wanted to sign Alvaro Carreras, but in order to avoid paying the expected price of Benfica by 60 million euros, they wanted Man United to trigger its redemption clause of 18 million euros, with the two clubs which then envisage an agreement of value in the region of 30 to 35 million euros.
It would certainly be a daring tactic of the two clubs, but the chances that it happens has now been considerably reduced.
United transfer plan of Real Madrid-Man rejected by the agent
Addressing a bola, the agent of Carreras, Ginés Carvajal, denied that this agreement will occur in summer, also declaring that the Spanish defender plans to stay in Benfica for at least one more season.
“I do not know where this news comes from. Everything that is said of pure fantasy and, as such, does not deserve, on my part, a comment. Carreras is doing very well with Benfica and will continue there.”
Man United had been linked to the Signature of Carreras for themselves, but the arrival of January Dorgu means that it is unlikely that an agreement will occur in summer. They would have welcomed the profit that would have come from the 22 -year -old sale to Real Madrid, but this rather bizarre operation seems to have been stopped on its traces before it even begins.
It remains to be seen what Business Man United can do this summer with the money they have at their disposal. There is no doubt that sales will be necessary, but fundraising will be easier to say than to do.
