In Batman: the animated series And Superman: the animated seriesLex Luthor and the Joker joined for the first time in the 1997 three -part episode entitled “World’s Finest”.
In the cross event, the story starts at Gotham City, where the joker succeeds in a breakage involving a giant statue made of kryptonite. After obtaining the radioactive price, he heads for the metropolis with a plan in mind. There, he approaches Lex Luthor and offers an agreement: he will delete Superman if Luthor agrees to pay him a huge sum in return.
This leads Superman and Batman to inevitably meet and go up each other by determining their respective secret identities. They join forces and end up arresting Lex and the Joker, preparing the field for the later arrival of another fantastic animated series, Justice League.
Could something similar happen in the DCU, where the public is presented to a opposite vision of the best in the world?
During the press tour, the actor of Lex Luthor, Nicholas Hoult, said that the Joker is someone he wanted Lex to meet and associate himself.

Superman arrives in theaters on July 11, the kick -off officially on the side of the cinema of the DC united universes of James Gunn.
A private projection for criticism and certain online personalities took place on June 25 at the Lot of Warner Bros., although complete criticism will not be published before July 7. Video subscribers Prime will also have access to early projections on July 8.

Milly Alcock also made her debut as a Supergirl, with an autonomous film already in development for the character.
