The 10 most beautiful headphones ever made

The most important aspects of headphones are things like comfort, sound quality and characteristics. However, they are also something we carry on our body, or we leave in the open air when you do not use them, so what pair of cans look As is also high enough on the list.
While most people have tiny wireless buds pushed in their ears these days, I still like to appreciate (and use) complete headphones and really love an attractive pair. So I thought: “What are the most beautiful headphones ever made?” And after traveling the web for a few hours, it seems that they are the most likely candidates.

Sennheiser Orpheus he 1 (2022)
It is weird to think of the Orpheus, it 1 like a pair of headphones, because this configuration is in fact an electrostatic helmet associated with a custom valve amplifier (tube) integrated into a Carrara marble chassis.
There are eight tubes locked up in the liters rising from the base, so there are a lot of pumps and circumstances when you sit down to listen using these phones. From the point of view of sound engineering, these headphones are roughly the pinnacle. There are more than 6000 components and the materials include platinum, gold, ceramics and stone. It is the Ulta-Mince Diaphrams that are plated with a platinum, by the way.
It is, of course, an open backcard set, and in my eye, it manages to be as expensive as it is, without being seeing. If you drive in a snack of limousine on Grey Poupon, they could be in your alley. I will just be happy to look at photos because at $ 60,000, it will probably not honor my ears.

Bang & Olufsen Beoplay H95
This is a lighthouse of flagship caneau with B&O, and “only” $ 999, you can buy 60 for the price of HE1, and there is still money for CDs. Personally, I think they seem more beautiful than the He 1 too, at least the bit of the helmet. There is no block of marble attached to these, that is probably why the price is more reasonable.
These were published to celebrate the brand’s 95th anniversary, and I worship The chic style they found. These headphones manage to look modern and classic at the same time, which is quite a feat. It is the contrast between the brushed metal cups and the pads that do it, and, of course, the real shape of the cups is very pleasant in my eyes personally.
Although, at this price, you do not get a platinum in the speakers of your helmet, the pilots are in titanium, and that’s good enough for me.
Bang & Olufsen Beoplay H95
The Bang & Olufsen Beoplay H95 are the flagship phones of one of the best audio equipment manufacturers in the world. Beautiful and almost at a reasonable price for this segment.

Focal utopia (refreshment 2022)
Of course, the design of the most artistic helmets on this list was to come from the French. I can certainly see Louis XVI see the head on these magnificent cans. It is as if someone had broken a cathedral and used the pieces to shape the headphones.
These are reference headphones with an open back, which means that if you want to hear unclear sound in the same way that the engineer who has mastered your music has done, then it may be the audio utopia you are looking for. My own personal dreams of utopia were broken by the price of $ 5,000, but good for someone, somewhere, it is at the entrance.
Focal utopia (2022)
Although the price of the headphones of Focal Utopia 2022 stalls them solidly in the eccentric audiophile support, it is difficult to challenge this absolutely magnificent design and the audio quality without compromise.

Grado Heritage Series GH4
It is a limited edition set which is no longer for sale, but that is part of the tradition of Grado to make headphones from rare wood supplies. I am an aspirant for gadgets that includes wood, and GH4 has this strangely raucked aesthetic that I find attractive. By the way, they use Norwegian pine, and according to all accounts, they sound pretty good too.

Sony MDR-R10 (1989)
Sony thinks that the MDR-R10 is special because it was “the first in the world to adopt a bio-cellulose diaphragm with rigidity comparable to that of aluminum”. I think it’s special because just look to her. It is undoubtedly the very first set of ultra-premium headphones, and it is just that Sony is the one behind. It can be difficult for some young readers to imagine, but they were once the last word of the AV equipment, and, honestly, they always make incredible headphones, but MDR-R10 is certainly a highest point.
Made using the 200 year old Japanese elm, with a leather strip in lamb skin, these are high-end from start to finish, and, although it is a closed back design, it provides a very speaker presentation. At least, that’s what I read. Since only about 2,000 units have been made, I will certainly never have the chance to hear them for myself.
When they were launched for the first time, they were $ 2,500 per pair, which made it the most expensive headphones in the world. Today, they can bring about $ 6,000, which is actually fairly fair by considering inflation.

Master & Dynamic MW65
Based in New York, Master & Dynamic apparently has a “modern but timeless design philosophy, only using the best materials”. I think they certainly have nailed the first part with the MW65, because that’s really what I thought when I saw these headphones. They seem to adapt to any professional studio during the 20th century, but they are undeniably a product of modern precision engineering. Lots of precision metal machining, leather, stainless steel hinges and looks on which you can cut diamonds.
This is the lightest ear model in the company as long as I know, and this has been done using materials such as aluminum to keep things strong but light. The pilots are made from Béryllium, which is a rare choice for wireless headphones, but it benefits them in passive cable mode.
The price, if you can find one in stock, is also squarely reasonable, because I saw them go for about $ 250. I expect Trent Reznor to wear a pair.

Hears LCD-4
The LCD-4 of Auseze seem not to be moved to a radio studio in the 1950s, or the study of a mustachioed man named “Nigel” who explores the ruins of the jungle during his free time. It was replaced by the LCD-4Z and the LCD-5, but they are a little more docile on the design front, even if they are a technical improvement.
Apparently, the ebony wood rings take four weeks to finish, and each individual pair is apparently unique. It is a heavy set, but you have the choice of a leather or carbon fiber strap to spread the weight, which is a lesson that I would have liked that Apple took heart with the AirPods Max, which tend to leave a nice tooth at the top of my head.
3
Empyrean II audio meze
With a name that sounds like it is directly Warhammer 40k The Empyrean II presents aluminum atria vintage in CNC decorated with a grille inspired by complex art. About $ 3,000, I didn’t expect anything less, but the more I look at these ears, the more details I see.
These headphones have been very well examined by the audiophile press, and the price requested is not so high in this context, but I also appreciate the tears shape of the cups, the interesting angle of the hinges, even the apparently lazy fold of the banner.
2
AKG K1000
The AKG K1000 1989 are the most cyberpunk headphones on this list. Its design is radically different from conventional headphones: the K1000 has two large rectangular pilot panels which are a few centimeters from the ears, suspended on adjustable metal forks.
It was a first attempt to obtain headphones that looked like listeners’ speakers, and AKG was quite literal on this subject. There are no earpieces, as such. Only two huge driver taxis attached to your head. You can tilt the pilots to adjust the sound scene, which is quite neat, and the crazy thing is that it succeeds in what it aims to do. However, the K1000 is notoriously eager for power. Valued at 120 Ω of impedance with only 74 DB SPL / MW sensitivity, it requires an output of an amplifier of a speaker (or a very strong helmet amplifier) via its 4-pin XLR connector and its cable to reach the appropriate listening volumes.
I think these headphones are beautiful because of this almost industrial design. It is retro-futuristic. It is Robocop And Mad At the same time, and I love it. Unfortunately, a pair of mint of them goes for about $ 1,500!

Bowers & Wilkins P9 Signature
To complete this list, I was tempted to sneak into my own AirPods Max Driver headphones, but let’s be honest, it is far from being any of these headsets in the Look department and the P9 signature deserves to be much more.

The ears are dressed in high quality leather, and I am personally and perhaps embarrassing a big leather fan as a material. These are undoubtedly the least adventurous pair here, but those that I would be most likely to wear in public, if only my phone still had a helmet plug.
