Although the turkey is the star of the Thanksgiving meal, I find that I spend more time planning the side dishes. There’s not much you can do with turkey, so I devote much of my creativity to creating exciting and flavorful side dishes. I’m trying to hold back a little because Thanksgiving dinner is already very important and requires a lot of time and effort. Typically, I try to go with a green vegetable and a side of potato or squash, then maybe one or two more and there’s no limit to the extras! Sometimes it’s nice to revisit old favorites or maybe reinvent a classic and I like to try at least a few completely new dishes each year.
