“There’s a shortage of places to hide…” “It’s all about being part of the winning team.” Goldwyn Films has revealed an official trailer for another trashy action thriller titled Oscar Shawcurrently being broadcast on VOD for release in early January. Another one of those poorly shot, extremely underlit, entirely generic action films that they keep making more of. A retired detective seeks revenge for the death of his best friend, taking justice into his own hands after failing in his police career. Featured Michael Jai White like Oscar Shaw, with Tyrese Gibson & Isaiah Washingtonmore Rich Paul & Cécile Cubiló. A relentless cop, haunted by the tragic loss of his closest friend, embarks on a perilous quest for revenge, fighting to restore justice to the streets he was once sworn to protect. Michael Jai White seems to be making way too many of these boring action movies lately (see also The man in difficulty, Hostile takeover). And here’s another one to ignore…

After retiring from the police force, a relentless detective (Michael Jai White as Oscar Shaw) haunted by the tragic loss of his closest friend sets out on a perilous quest for revenge, seeking redemption and also fighting to restore justice to the streets he was once sworn to protect. Oscar Shaw is co-directed by filmmakers R. Ellis Frazier (director of Misfire, Rumble, Eight Days Carlo, Larceny, Legacy, Hustle Down, Repeater, As Dead, Day Job) & Justin Nesbitt (producer of many other films / director of Zoom.Mov). The screenplay is written by Don Roff (RL Stine’s Story Club podcast, Saint Clare). It is produced by Vince Jolivet, Riche Hil, Jiarui Guo, Ojan Missaghi, David Watchs. Samuel Goldwyn Films to release Frazier & Nesbit’s Oscar Shaw film in certain American theaters + on VOD from January 9, 2026 coming soon.
