‘Terrifier’ Star’s Mickey Mouse Horror Movie Returns for More With Minnie

Steamboat Willie is ready to kill again, and this time he brings his partner. A sequel to the public domain horror comedy slasher film Screaming boatbased on the black and white Disney classic, has been officially announced, with director Steven LaMorte return to the bar. No plot details are known for certain at this time, since development is not expected to begin until 2026, but the film will reunite the precursor to Mickey Mouse with his love interest, Minnie, whose first appearances also entered the public domain in 2024. Although there has been no formal confirmation, most of the cast from the first film are expected to reprise their roles, including CreepyIt is David Howard Thornton like the murderer Willie.
“I’m excited to announce the sequel to our goddamn horror comedy,” read LaMorte’s official statement about the sequel. “We had so much fun bringing these iconic characters to life with a gory twist, and I can’t wait to return to the world of Screaming boat to create even more murder and mayhem in miniature. Minnie’s official introduction is a continuation of where the first film’s cliffhanger left off. After being teased during the runtime as another mouse born from mad scientists’ experiments, she eventually appears aboard the garbage barge that Willie finds himself on in the final moments of Screaming boatstaging a gruesome return for the animated couple. In a press release, the team promised that its arrival would build on the philosophy of the original feature film “with even more outrageous sets and horrible comedy.»
