Anyone else feels a bit of deja? Last year, it was Trent Alexander-Arnold that Liverpool was desperately trying to stand in the midst of contractual negotiations. Finally, the great-back abandoned Anfield for Real Madrid while the Reds lost one of their best players in a free agreement. Now, a year later, they are faced with a graceful rehearsal of Konate.
The Frenchman has not yet put the pen on paper on a new agreement and he has less than 10 months left before he can leave as a free agent. As such, Real Madrid is already sniffing and like Alexander-Arnold, it is said that Konate is likely to join the Liga giants if he fails to sign a new Liverpool agreement.
This is partly why the disappointing form of the defender reaches such a bad time. While Liverpool begins to stutter – lose consecutive matches against Crystal Palace and Galatasaray – Konate has stood out as one of their vulnerability points.
The Frenchman was dominated by Jean-Philippe Mateta against Palace and had trouble keeping possession completely in Türkiye. If Madrid looks, then it is unlikely to be impressed.
The figures do not make a nice reading either. Against Galatasaray, Konate won none of her three duels on the ground and only completed three of the eight long bullets. Alongside the rest of his teammates, it was an evening to forget.
Alas, if Real Madrid came in summer, the reports suggest that the Reds could still win a player apart in unexpected revenge.

According to reports in Spain, Liverpool is now considering a huge proposal to sign Eduardo Camavonga. Real Madrid midfielder is represented by the same agency as Konate, which could give the reds an increase in familiarity if the negotiations are reaching an advanced step next summer.
Of course, given the talent of the fellow, Liverpool is not the only side interested. Chelsea and Arsenal would also have sniff while the French considers his future of Real Madrid before a potential passage in the Premier League.
Nicknamed “Incredible” by Scout Jacek Kulig last year, Camavong could offer Liverpool the balance of the midfielder who was desperately missing this season. However, securing your signature will not be an easy task.
