Norrie was clinical on break points last season and will need to do the same in 2026 as he faces an aggressive server in the form of Humbert.

Playing styles and prediction

As well as defending his Marseille title, it was quite a disappointing season for Humbert which was reflected in his inability to defend the final points at the Rolex Paris Masters due to injury. The Frenchman will now hope that changes as he looks to add some variety to his game to match his aggressive serve and hopes for more consistent wins on the board in order to raise his ranking and return to the world top 30.

Norrie will aim to be aggressive on serve while being smart but proactive on return, forcing Humbert behind the baseline and entering the baseline to hit winners. Meanwhile, Humbert will aim to attack the net on serve and use the backhand to dictate play. This match will be a nervous match, as it will be their first competitive competition in a few months. Humbert’s strong but consistent serve could pass muster here, with both players feeling a little rusty.

Prediction: Humbert in three sets.
