Team of British and Irish Lions vs Act Brumbies: Henry Pollock returns to the bench after the fear of injuries as a name for tourists for Canberra Clash | Rugby Union News

Andy Farrell has appointed his Lions team from the British and Irish team to the strongest, with Wednesday’s match against the act that Brumbies in Canberra, preparing as a dry race for the first test against Australia.
Maro Itoje leads the side as part of a second row partnership with Joe McCarthy and through the starting XV, there are choices considered to be First Choice, in particular the half backs Jamison Gibson-Park and Finn Russell.
The X-Factor file on the bench, Henry Pollock, and the versatile playmaker Marcus Smith, are the two stars of England to prove that they are ready to face the Wallabies on July 19.
Pollock was to start the trembling victory of 21-10 on Saturday against the Waratahs of New South Wales, but retired shortly before kick-off because of a tight calf, an injury that has now cured.
Bundee Aki and Garry Ringrose’s all-house combination was chosen in the centers and Blair Kinghorn made his first start after joining the team late due to his 14 tops with Toulouse.
Tommy Freeman and James Lowe are the favorites to fill the wings against Australia in Brisbane and the two are present, Mack Hansen adding three rear of the bench against his former super rugby franchise.
Ellis Genge was the Logehed Prop in tour form while on the other side of the Scrum, three times, the tourist Lions Tadhg Furlong receives another start to develop his match at the end of a season which was spoiled by calf injuries and hamstrings. Dan Sheehan is appointed to Hooker’s.
Normally, an unstoppable force, Tom Curry has not yet found his stride, but he receives the opensidal tasks in a rear row which offers an important food option in the form of Ollie Chessum.
Jack Conan is included at number eight and it seems that Chessum provides second row coverage in the event of an injury to Itoje and McCarthy, the sides, Josh van der Flier and Pollock are the inclusions on the bench.
Ireland provides eight players to the starting XV, in England Five and in Scotland two without place in the 23rd for the Pays de Wales Openneside Jac Morgan.
The Brumbies are the strongest team with which the Lions will face in Australia outside the tests after reaching the semi-finals of super rugby, where they lost 37-17 against the chiefs on June 14.
“In 2013, the Brumbies Lions in Canberra and this year were the main Australian team of Super Rugby – so we are fully aware of the challenge before us,” said head coach Farrell.
Farrell had already confirmed that Wednesday’s match would come too early for his son Owen Farrell, who was added to the team to replace an injury to Elliot Daly after the back fractured his arm in last week’s victory over the Queensland Reds.
The Brumbies also appointed their team on Monday, with Australia striker Tom Hooper included despite the presence of Wallabies against Fiji on Sunday.
The Brumbies side is missing several test players, but presents most of the side which recently reached the semi-finals of the Super Rugby Pacific.

Biggar: He looks very “tested as a team”
Sky Sports Pundit and old fly of the Dan Biggar Lions reacts to the last selection of Farrell:
“It seems to me that it is very landscaping, if it makes sense. If you look at the combinations, you look at the flexibility that the team gives you, look at a Tommy Freeman playing, gives you the opportunity to move it to the back, to move it to the wing, etc.
“If someone said to me, it’s the first test team in Brisbane, I would believe it. And I think that’s how you look at it.
“I think the combination of the Irish centers, and you also look at it as 12 of the 23 are Irish in this match team.
“And when it comes to big games and when there are a bit, I wouldn’t say the pressure on Andy Farrell this week, but there was a lot of external noise.
“Sometimes it’s nice to come back to what he tried and tested and with what he has worked for a number of years and gives him just this little confidence that things are going well on Wednesday evening against the brambies and leading to the first test.”
Experts choose their starting XV to face Australia
The former British and Irish Lions Sam Warburton and Will Greenwood predicted the test side of Andy Farrell to face Australia and believe that five places remain to be won.
The tourist Lions twice Warburton (2013, 2017 – both as a captain) and the triple tourist Lions Greenwood (1997, 2001, 2005) presented a potential XV test following the Lions 21-10 victory over the Waratahs on Saturday.
In the attackers, the positions of the propeller Tighthesad, the flanker and the blind flank have been reported as areas where there are no current favorites.
