Head coach Graham Potter Could put four players in their early days of West Ham United when opening the Premier League on Saturday 2025/26 in Sunderland.

El Hadji Malick Diouf,, Kyle Walker-Peters,, Callum Wilson And Mads Hermansen are all ready to be appointed to the Hammers match team for the first time after finishing the Slavia Prague summer movements, Southampton, Newcastle United and Leicester City respectively.

While Potter did not give his team selection at his pre-match press conference in Rush Green on Thursday afternoon, we could reasonably expect that at least one of his recent signatures appeared at the Stadium of Light.

Asking specifically if the Danish goalkeeper Hermansen could start between the sticks on Wearside, Potter replied: “Well, I’m not going to name a team now, obviously, but yes, we are delighted with the signature. I think it offers real competition in this position.

“We have obviously lost łukasz Fabiański, so we thought we had to add an experienced competition there and yes, we will see how the weekend is going.”
