Bangladesh announces the test team for the Sri Lanka tour, keep Najmul Halsa Shanto as captain
THE Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Wednesday June 4, a team of 16 members announced for their next game of two games Test series In Sri Lankarestraint Najmul Hossain Shanto as test captain for another year. The tour marks the start of the Bangladesh campaign during the World World Championship cycle of the CPI 2025-2027.
Najmul Halsaine Shanto Duo to continue their leadership functions
Shanto, who took over the captain in 2024, will continue to direct the test side, with Mehidy Hasan Miraz Stay as vice-captain. The BCB reaffirmed its faith in the combination of leadership which led the tigers throughout the previous season.
“The high-level striker, Najmul Hossain Shanto, was preserved as a trial captain of Bangladesh for another year … Mehidy Hasan Mirazs also continues as vice-captain”, “ The council mentioned in its official declaration.
Key reversal and notable exclusions
Window Litton that recovered from an injury and returns to the team, strengthening the average order with their experience. Another major return comes in the form of a right stimulator Ebadot Hospalswho played international cricket for the last time in July 2023.
Two other notable inclusions are the Spinner of the left arm Hasan Murad and the young Bowler fast Nahid Rana– which were not part of the recent series of tests against Zimbabwe.
However, three players in this Zimbabwe series were omitted: Tanvir Islam, Tourneur du Main Left, Fast Bowler Tanzim Hasan Sakiband superior paste Mahmudul Hasan Joy. Their exclusion comes as selectors seek to refine the team with an eye on the new WTC cycle.

In particular, the Bangladesh team is expected to leave for Sri Lanka on June 13. The first test will take place at the iconic international gall stadium from June 17, followed by the second test at Stadium R. Premadasa de Colombo from June 25.
