Miyu supports the anime of Yoasobi Maestion

The power of the French animation Miyu Productions has associated with Upstart Nothing New to co -produce “We Are Aliens”, a story from age to develop now in development, and planned for completion by March 2026.
The project marks the first animated feature of the 28 -year -old director Kohei Kadowaki, best known for his visually striking clips for card acts like Yoasobi and for his experimental mixture of action and live animation.
“We Are Aliens” tells the story of two boys, Tsubasa and Gyotaro. Tsubasa is calm and serious, while Gyotaro is a joyful genius. As a child, they were close friends, but jealousy and misunderstandings separated them. Years later, their lives took place in different directions – but when memories of the past come back, the two have to face what happened between them.
“This film highlights half of the animated adolescence rarely touches,” explains director Kohei Kadowaki, promising a soft-love film Redolent both in pain and joy. “Through children for children and the first loves – the events that were part of a small place – the film poses universal questions: what does that mean aging? What is happiness?
‘We are extraterrestrials’
“We are constantly looking for daring and singular voices in animation,” add the producers of Miyu Emmanuel-Alain Raynal and Pierre Bausson. “From the moment we saw the first images of” We Are Aliens “, we were convinced of the strength of the project – and that we were witnessing the emergence of a new major voice in global animation.”
Miyu Productions previously collaborated with Shin-Ei Animation, based in Tokyo, on “Ghost Cat Anzu”, which was published on the fifteen of directors at the Cannes Festival 2024. The new partnership of Miyu with Nothing New was born from this same trip to the Croisette, where the two companies have connected to a shared commitment to an ambitious animation and the director.
