Talkspace, Tia Health Launch Women’s Mental Health Partnership

The female health company, TIA Health, announced on Tuesday a new partnership with the mental health supplier Talkspace, giving AIa members access to the virtual mental health services of Talkspace.

Tia Health, based in San Francisco, offers women and virtual support for women. Its services include gynecology, primary care and well-being support. He serves women in California, New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Arizona. The company has traditionally provided its own mental health support, including mental health assessments and support groups, but partnership with Talkspace, based in New York, allows the company to extend its services.

Thanks to the partnership, TIA Health primary care providers can refer to women who need mental health support to conference space providers, which can offer therapy and psychiatry services. TIA Health suppliers can also collaborate with patient care providers.

“This partnership establishes discussion spaces as a partner of the main therapy and psychiatric services of TIA Health, offering integrated mental health care that supports women at all stages of life,” said Katelyn Watson, director of Talkspace marketing, in an email. “Talkspace will work in close collaboration with the AIA primary care providers to ensure transparent references and complete care that approach physical and mental well-being.”

The partnership is mainly focused on increasing awareness of TALKSPACE services to TIA members, although a woman working with a supplier of discussion space can also be referred to TIA if they need primary care or gynecological services.

Tia Health launched this partnership because the mental health needs of women are “deeply linked” to physical health, but are often unanswered, according to Felicity Yost, co-founder and CEO of TIA.

“From hormonal changes to the transitions of the stage of life such as pregnancy, maternity and menopause, women experience unique mental health challenges that deserve integrated and non-compartmentalized care,” she said in an email. “Talkspace is a mental health supplier with a proven capacity to provide high -quality accessible therapy services on a large -scale, with the flexibility and the clinical rigor that our patients need and wide insurance coverage that widens access to mental health care for AIA members.”

There is a need for better mental health support for women. Yost cited a recent JAMA report which revealed that the mental health of mothers in the United States has decreased considerably from 2016 to 2023. In addition, evidence shows that menopause can increase the risk of depression and anxiety.

Yost added that in the end, the objective of the partnership is to “provide really integrated care and in all the person by rendering the high quality mental health services more easily accessible to TIA patients”.

It is not the first partnership for the health of women that Talkspace launched. Last year, he announced a partnership with Ovia Health by Lacarcorp to create the Women’s Health Coalition for Digital Solutions. He also associated himself with Evernow to provide mental health support to women in perimenopause and menopause.
