From KL Rahul to Mitchell Starc, check out Delhi Capitals’ (DC) predicted retention list ahead of IPL 2026

Delhi Capitals will be one of the fewer sides who will not be looking to make a lot of changes to their squad ahead of IPL 2026. Axar Patel and co. finished 6th on the points table in 2025, having won seven matches and lost six. While DC were brilliant and a force to be reckoned with in the first half of the season, the team choked in the second part, leading to them narrowly missing out on a playoffs spot. Ahead of the November 15 deadline for teams, let’s take a look at DC’s potential retention list before IPL 2026.

Predicted DC retention list for IPL 2026

KL Rahul: It will be a no-brainer for DC to retain their best batter after having scored 539 runs in 13 innings, averaging 53.90.
Faf du Plessis: Another retention choice that DC won’t think about twice, with the veteran defying age to amass 202 runs from 9 matches.
Abhishek Porel: DC’s reliable number three batter went on to score 301 runs from 13 matches.
Tristan Stubbs: One of DC’s best batters, with ability to accelerate at will. He scored 300 runs in IPL 2025 and is an integral part of the team’s middle-order.
Sediqullah Atal: Although the Afghanistan star featured in just one game in IPL 2025, DC won’t mind retaining the promising youngster.
Axar Patel: The captain of DC is a sure-shot retention and he’s proved it with his all-round prowess in IPL 2025.
Sameer Rizvi: Making his move from CSK to DC in IPL 2025, young Rizvi would have liked to have gotten more opportunities. However, he featured only in 4 matches and managed to amass 63 runs.
Ashutosh Sharma: Another promising all-rounder whom DC will surely retain, given that he scored 204 runs from 13 matches.
Vipraj Nigam: The all-rounder is one of the gems unearthed by DC in IPL 2025, having picked 11 wickets and scored 142 runs.
Darshan Nalkande: A young uncapped Indian all-rounder DC won’t mind having as backup despite not giving him a single game in IPL 2025.
Ajay Mandal: Another untested all-rounder whom DC won’t mind retaining.
Manvanth Kumar: Same as Mandal, an back-up all-rounder in DC’s camp.
Tripurana Vijay: The Andhra Pradesh all-rounder has showed promising signs in domestic cricket and will remain a part of DC’s young all-rounder department.
Madhav Tiwari: Uncapped Indian all-rounder with loads of potential.

Mitchell Starc: One of DC’s frontline bowlers, the Aussie icon picked up 14 wickets in 11 games.
Mukesh Kumar: The West Bengal pacer is the Indian bowler who spearheads DC’s fast-bowling unit. He picked up 12 wickets in as many matches in IPL 2025.
Kuldeep Yadav: The spin wizard has been an integral part of DC over the years and is here to stay.
Mustafizur Rahman: The fiery Bangladesh pacer is here to stay in DC despite getting limited opportunities in IPL 2025.
Dushmantha Chameera: Another talented Sri Lankan pacer whom DC won’t mind holding on to.
