Tirupati: A police officer was slapped in public by the brother of the roads and the BC Janardhan Reddy Building Minister during an inauguration of the temple in the Nandyal district of Andhra Pradesh. The incident, which was taken in front of the camera, sparked public indignation and led to his arrest.Videos of the incident have become viral on various social media platforms, people demanding measures against the Minister’s brother for his “scandalous” act.According to information, the Minister of Endowments Anam Ramanarayana Reddy Reddy and the Minister of R&B attended the inauguration of the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha temple near Kolimigundla. Police had prevented the public from venturing into the temple while the ministers were present inside. Janardhan Reddy’s brother, Madana Bhoopal Reddy, was also part of the crowd of spectators. When he tried to move forward, he was arrested by the police and an altercation broke out. In the midst of a stampede between police and TDP activists, Bhoopal Reddy slapped an armed reserve agent in service, identified as Jaswanth, in a rage crisis. While the videos of slap incident became viral, Janardhan Reddy published a statement, calling him an “unhappy incident” and said that he had asked the police to reserve a matter and arrest those responsible. “This government will never tolerate such indiscipline and autonomous behavior. The person involved will have to face legal consequences for having attacked a service police officer,” said the minister.
