Glue the stars of six best comedies around a table for an hour, and it becomes more and more impossible to keep in cool. At least, that was the case for The Hollywood Reporter ‘The latest comedy actor Emmy Round Table, featuring Adam Brody (Nobody wants that), Ted danson (A man inside), John Mulaney (Everyone is live), Seth Rogen (The studio), Jason Segel (Contraction) and Julio Torres (Ghost).
The Rollicking conversation has touched subjects as distant as the way they were typical – the type of Stoner Schlubby (Rogen), the Confident Nerd (Brody), the “soulless wooden boy who is fast on his feet” (Mulaney) – “dream roles” that they did not land. (Spoiler: Brody fought for Blues cluues.) They also seriously talked about the most difficult period of their career and exchanged stories of the most confusing creative notes they have ever received.
At one point, the six men even found themselves on a scandalous tangent about actresses who play princesses in Disney parks. It turns out that Rogen knew a woman who was a Disney princess and, as he shared, she has incredible stories. “I remember asking my friend, like:” I bet there are a lot of guys who are useful with the princesses? ” She is like, “Oh, a lot.” It’s a big problem, “he revealed. When asked how the princesses in the parks react, Rogen said they had a party line: “The prince would not like it.” Unsurprisingly, the line sparked an instant “EWW” of almost everyone at the table.
At another time during the hour, several of the players gathered were quietly, so hilarious, reassessing their life choices, because Torres explained how he has no credit card. “It is an aversion to be part of the systems I do not agree to be a part,” he told the group. “I decide whether or not I play a board game, why do I have to have a credit rating? Depending on whom? You classify me on my credit? Like, no.” Mulaney seemed that his mind had been blown away by the explanation of Torres, but he said no: “His answer on the way in which the credit score is not a game to which he consented, I really liked. So, I said to myself more, can I apply this to my own life? And then immediately, no.”
