Survivor’s Jake Latimer Details Snakebite Recovery

Survivor’s Jeff Probst Details Contestant’s Snake Bite That Led to Medevac
Maybe he didn’t win Survivorbut Jake Latimer can still consider himself a survivor.
The season 49 contestant of the reality series was flown out of Fiji and then removed from the game after being bitten by a highly venomous sea krait snake while standing in the water near his tribe’s beach, and now he’s speaking out for the first time about the heartbreaking moment.
“I opened my eyes and the snake was clinging to the sole of my foot, its mouth wide open,” Jake recalled in an interview with Weekly Entertainment published October 9. “But it didn’t hurt at the time. I just felt a sort of tingling sensation. And that’s when I screamed for Alex. I’m like, “Guys, I think that thing just bit me!” “Then, as we saw on the show, everything else followed.”
The 36-year-old, who was expecting his first child at the time, was then transferred by boat to the production’s base camp to be treated by the show’s medical staff, who he said made him “feel safe.”
