The NASA RASC-AL 2026 competition

NASA uses the next generation of college innovators to imagine new daring concepts pushing the limits of human exploration on the Moon, Mars and beyond the competition from the revolutionary revolutionary concepts of NASA-Academic linkage (RASC-AL) of NASA. The RASC-AL challenge feeds innovation for aerospace systems concepts, analogues and technological prototyping in the shortcomings thanks to university engagement with NASA and industry. The competition is looking for undergraduate and higher level teams based in the United States and their faculty advisers to develop new concepts to improve our ability to operate on the Moon and Mars. This year’s themes range from the development of systems and technologies to support the exploration of the lunar surface, to improve the capacity of humanity to operate and return data from the surface of Mars.
