Surav Ganguly vs Harbhajan Singh for the president at BCCI AGM?

Surav Ganguly was president of BCCI from 2019 to 2022 while Harbhajan Singh is currently a member of Rajya Sabha.
The former spinner of India Harbhajan Singh could be in the fray to become a office carrier at the Cricket Control Council in India (BCCI). But he will not be the only big name. The former captain of India Surav Ganguly, who was president of the BCCI between 2019-222, before being passed out without ceremony, will also be at the BCCI aga on September 28 in Mumbai. Harbhajan will represent the Punjab Cricket Association and will aim for the first time to the Cricket administration. AGA BCCI will decide on new office carriers, including the post of president of the IPL.
With President Roger Binny retired after reaching the age of 70, the BCCI must have a new president. In addition, Arun Dhumal, the president of the IPL, will also have to leave his headquarters after having reached the limit of the term of six years. Dhumal will have to serve a cooling period.
Will Surav Ganguly come back for the 2nd round?
Surav Ganguly will represent the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) at AGA BCCI. Although he is not clear if Ganguly will return for a second term in the BCCI, his name would surely be discussed. Ganguly had to give way to Binny winner of the 1983 World Cup in the BCCI 2022 elections after part of the members of the board of directors.
However, with Jay Shah moving to the ICC and Devjit Saikia began to continue as secretary, Ganguly could make a comeback. Having already been outside the BCCI for three years, the absence could be considered as its cooling period. Therefore, Ganguly could serve for six years before taking a break.
But Ganguly will have to win other members of the board of directors, in particular the western and southern areas. It was struck by allegations of mismanagement of the transition line of Virat Kohli captain and to promote a rival brand of the title of BCCI DREAM11. However, with a general ban on real money games and Virat Kohli withdrawing from the test and the T20is, the two problems are resolved.
Apprentice to challenge the master?
Even if it is a democratic process and it is called the BCCI elections, there has been no election or a fight between two candidates for more than a decade. Instead, this is a process of selecting all members before completing the electoral formalities.
In 2001, Ganguly supported Harbhajan Singh to make the Test team of India and the rest is in history. The same apprentice could now challenge Ganguly for a position if the former captain of India throws his hat into the ring. According to an Indian Express report, Harbhajan Singh is in the fray to become a BCCI office carrier. The depot appointment window is September 20 to 21. They can withdraw their names by September 23.
There will be a discussion at AGA for BCCI posts. Once everyone has unanimously agreed, the elections will officially take place. But during the discussions, it could be Ganguly vs Harbhajan. But there are also possibilities that Harbhajan would examine a position of vice-president. In this case, if Ganguly decides to return to the Cricket administration, he could resume the position of president. But everything will depend on the question of whether everyone accepts the arrangement.
